JOB DESCRIPTION AREA MANAGER
STAFF
- Advise recruitment needs to Head Office and join individual and group interviews for new staff when required
- Train, mentor and lead your team.
- Work closely with Retail Managers.
- Ensure shops are staffed appropriately and within budget.
- Staff Scheduling
- Oversee absence procedure regarding staff cover.
- Handle any staffing issues.
- Motivate Retail team.
TRAINING
Work closely with the other Area Managers to ensure staff have the tools and motivation to:
- Increase sales and customer numbers.
- Provide high quality, consistent customer service and ensure high standards are maintained in all aspects of the running of the shops.
- Sell products and promote them to customers in a positive manner.
- Complete initial 2 weeks induction training & 3-month probation period with support from HR.
- Have excellent product knowledge.
- Minimise waste and manage stock levels.
- Reporting sales and initiating target driven sales.
COMMUNICATION
- Keep communication channels open and clear.
- Use discretion when handling information, in accordance with GDPR.
- Communicate information to staff, office and bakery.
- Set clear roles and responsibilities for shop staff.
- Ensure all staff understand our vision and strive towards business goals.
- Anticipate problems and flag up to senior management team.
- Report back to Commercial Manager on a regular basis and keep informed of all significant developments.
CUSTOMERS
- Understand the importance of good customer service and how to achieve it.
- Put yourself in place of the customer, ensure we are offering outstanding service they would not get elsewhere.
- Deal with any customer complaints – appropriately and professionally. Seek advice from senior management team if necessary.

Hours of work: 5 days per week Monday-Saturday, approximately 40 hours per week according to the needs of the business. On call 06:30-20:00 for staff absence reporting and cover purposes.
